Geopolitical 'Suicide by Cop': U.S. Risks Russia's Wrath with $300 Billion Heist for Ukraine or the MIC?
Triggering Western Financial Armageddon?
By: Gerry Nolan
In a gambit that smacks of geopolitical 'suicide by cop,' U.S. Congressional Republicans, backed tacitly by President Biden, have unfurled their 'Plan for Victory in Ukraine,' thrusting the conflict into a domain rife with catastrophic risks. This maneuver, more akin to a high-stakes poker play against a resurgent superpower, Russia – the moral edge here – signals a perilous deviation from conventional diplomatic paths. The plan’s centrepiece, commandeering over $300 billion of frozen Russian assets, goes beyond a mere cynical pivot. It's an earth-shaking move that strikes at the heart of global financial stability, confidence, and international diplomacy.
This Republican-led initiative, in a stark volte-face from their avowed resistance to Ukraine's 'forever war,' now embarks on a path where the sanctity of warfare norms and the fragile edifice of the Western financial system are set on a collision course, fraught with inevitable catastrophic implications for the West. The audacity of this move lies not just in its brazen disregard for international norms but in its potential to ignite a maelstrom of financial and diplomatic upheaval. The chilling cynicism becomes clear when one realizes that this massive sum, rather than mitigating Ukraine's suffering, is primed to vanish into the insatiable maw of the Military-Industrial Complex (MIC). In this grand geopolitical theatre of tragedy, the Ukrainian populace, ostensibly the recipients of this generosity, are tragically relegated to mere pawns in a larger game of power and profit, a chilling embodiment of the adage 'fighting to the last Ukrainian.' This move, a seismic rupture in the bedrock of the post-1972 Western fiat system, built on the shaky grounds of debt repayment confidence, heralds a coming unraveling of the Western financial empire. It's akin to triggering a financial nuclear bomb, threatening to plunge the Western world into the abyss of an economic Armageddon.
